1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of the Melvin macOS application, website, account services, and related features. By using Melvin, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Public Beta, Plans, and Billing
Melvin is currently offered as beta software. Features may change, produce incomplete results, or be temporarily unavailable. Plans are metered in inputs. One input is one agent run; asking Melvin a question does not use an input.
New accounts start on a free trial that lasts 30 days or 50 inputs, whichever ends first. No payment method is required for the trial. Orbit costs $26 per month and includes 200 inputs per calendar month. Orbit renews automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the customer portal linked from your billing page; cancelling stops future renewals, and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms, and Melvin does not store your card details.
3. Accounts
- Provide accurate account information and keep access to your email secure.
- Do not share an account in a way that bypasses service limits.
- Notify support if you believe your account or connected integrations were compromised.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account and approved workflows.
4. Automation Responsibilities
Melvin can interact with real applications, files, accounts, and websites. Review important drafts, recipients, dates, prices, commands, and destructive actions before approval. You remain responsible for decisions made and actions authorized through the service. Do not use Melvin as a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or safety advice.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not use Melvin to:
- Break the law, violate another person's rights, or access systems without authorization.
- Distribute malware, evade security controls, or interfere with service operation.
- Abuse provider resources, bypass quotas, scrape at prohibited scale, or resell service access.
- Submit content you do not have the right to process.
6. Connected Services
Google, Apple, DeepSeek, Tavily, Supabase, websites, and other connected services have their own terms and availability. You authorize Melvin to access those services only to perform features you request. We are not responsible for independent changes or outages in third-party services.
7. Software and Updates
Melvin grants you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to install and use the application for its intended purpose. You may not redistribute, sell, reverse engineer, or circumvent access controls except where applicable law expressly permits it. The app may download and install signed updates.
8. Intellectual Property and Feedback
Melvin and its product materials are owned by Melvin Laboratory or its licensors. You retain rights in your content. You may provide feedback, and you allow us to use that feedback without an obligation to compensate you, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
9. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Melvin and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when necessary to protect users or systems, respond to legal requirements, or address material violations of these terms.
10. Disclaimers and Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Melvin is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of accuracy, fitness, availability, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Melvin Laboratory is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business. Some jurisdictions do not allow all exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply.
11. Changes and Contact
We may update these terms as Melvin changes. Material revisions will be posted with a new effective date. Questions can be sent to legal@trymelvin.com.
