AI and your iPhone

Let your AI run your iPhone shortcuts.

Connect ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok to Melvin, and it can run your shortcuts on your iPhone, right from the chat. Same Melvin account, same connection as your Mac.

What it can do on your iPhone

Apple keeps iPhone apps apart: one app cannot reach into another. So on your iPhone, Melvin works through Shortcuts and what Apple allows, not by operating your other apps for you.

Your AI app asks first

Your AI app asks you before it runs a shortcut. Your AI can pass a shortcut some text and sees what it returns.

It runs while Melvin is open

iOS lets an app run a shortcut only while that app is open. If Melvin is not, the chat says it is waiting, and it runs when you open Melvin within ten minutes.

Photos to your Mac

Your AI can send photos from your iPhone to your Mac, and files from your Mac to your iPhone.

Same account as your Mac

Sign in on your iPhone with the account you use on your Mac. One connection in your AI app then reaches both devices.

A shortcut does whatever its steps say, so approve only ones you would run yourself.

How to set it up

  1. 1

    Install Melvin on your iPhone

Get it from the App Store, then sign in with the same Melvin account you use on your Mac.

  2. 2

    Connect your AI app

Follow the connect guide for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok. If you already use Melvin from your Mac, this is done.

  3. 3

    Ask from the chat

Ask your AI app to run a shortcut by its exact name, approve it there, and open Melvin on your iPhone.

One account, every device

On your Mac, the same connection finds files, organizes folders, drafts email and adds calendar events, in the folders you allow. See what it does on your Mac.

See what each device may do on your Devices page. To turn off every AI app at once, choose Disconnect all AI apps there or in the Melvin menu on your Mac.
